FPTS 2018 was organised by FPSI at Prof. MRD Auditorium of PES University on 19th & 20th June at Bengaluru.
The Seminar featured focussed session on “Latest trends in Fluid Power Technology”, covering Industrial and Mobile Hydraulics, Fluid Contamination, System Integration and Disruptive Technologies.
This was well attended by over 170 delegates, speakers and sponsors from Fluid Power Industries, Institutes, Associations and Public Sector Units. Profile of the audience includes Sr. Executives, Managers, Design Engineers, Application Engineers, Project Engineers, R&D Heads, Project Managers, Scientist, Faculty and Students.
The highlight of the Seminar was four Key Note Lectures on leading topics at the beginning of each session. A number of thought-provoking papers were presented on innovative and new concepts and technologies in the Fluid Power field, which attracted good discussions.
Mr. Vijay, Managing Director of Ajax Fiori Engineering (I) Ltd was the Chief guest and delivered the key note address on the Latest Trends in Fluid Power Technology. He traced the development of fluid power over the last four decades, in various parameters like size, performance and applications. Over the years he has participated both as development engineer and later as entrepreneurial user in self-loading mobile concrete plants.
Dr. Balasubramanya Murthy, Vice Chancellor of PES University was the guest of honour and traced the sustained growth of PES group from engineering college to a full-fledged university over the last few decades. He also deliberated on academic initiatives in frontier technologies at the undergraduate level as electives. He also narrated their experience in gurukul type of imparting education and their experience in interaction of engineering and biotechnology.
Mr. Hemanth Kumar, President of the Fluid Power Society of India gave an account of the growth of the Society over last four decades and how it fulfils the objective of disseminating fluid power knowledge. He also indicated that world over, the 19th of June is celebrated as Fluid Power Professionals Day, as it is the birth day of Blaise Pascal , known as the father of fluid power through Pascal’s law.
Mr. Srinivas Guttikar of technical committee informed that over 150 Delegates will deliberate on the trends in various applications over the next two days, spread of four sessions and 20 technical papers, including four key note lectures from authors from India, Italy, UK and Canada.

Over 18 Technical Papers presented in these 2 days programme with topic on Technological Development in Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Mechatronics with focus on Power Packs, Simulation Software and its applications in Fluid Power as also the use of Hydraulics and Pneumatics in Disruptive Technologies.
